About this deal

While I understood Nessa and Miko, I didn’t connect with them. Again, I was baffled how Nessa could change Miko so much. And I just do not see how someone like Nessa (so pure and wholesome) would ever be comfortable with Miko. Maybe I’m reading too much into this. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Byron is the type to go for vengeance. He’s fallen for Lex, but how long can that last? Apparently not that long, because once Lex has done her damage and his career is ruined, and she’s broken his heart, she’s made an apparent enemy for life. The detective isn’t going to let her get away from him that easily, especially considering what she’s done.

The villain of the story was more interesting than the two of them but even by the end of it, I didn’t care for him. The letter to Kingmakers is what all these kids wait for. It is their expectation and a look into their future. Basic training for the next gen Mafia families. Anyways many things about him just didn’t sit well with me. The fact that he THOUGHT about undressing her while she was unconscious so she can be scared when she wakes up was already bad enough, but I’m happy he didn’t actually do it. Now with all of that being said, I don’t think the point of this was to get me interested in Dean.. but yet here I stand. very much. interested. in. Dean. I don’t agree w any of the choices he made (of course) But I feel like his character has a lot of growing up to do, and many mistakes to own up to & I’m really intrigued in seeing how he finds himself in his book. She has a slight obsession with hiking, bodybuilding, and live comedy shows. Her perfect day would be taking the kids to Harry Potter World, going dancing with Mr. Lark, then relaxing with a good book and a monster bag of salt and vinegar chips. Until he was cooked like a lobster in a pot while working on a blast furnace. He isn’t dead. Just so badly burned that he can barely work the buttons on the remote while he watches television all day long, holed up in his room. First off all the boy was drugged and didn't even stand a chance to stop it and couldn´t even stand up for himself in that situation, second of all when he tried to explain to her what happened she didn't let him talk and practically walked away from him without hearing what he had to say. (he didn't even have to explain himself to her cuz girl he´s your bestfriend and not your boyfriend so get yourself together he didn't owe you anything) She has been best friends with Leo since birth so she was unsure if what she felt for Leo is kinship, friendship or more (but we know better! Lol). Her confusion (and a misunderstanding) gave Dean the opening to take advantage of her vulnerability and sabotage Leo and Anna’s blooming relationship. (DARN YOU DEAN!!!!) Meanwhile, there’s Luca Diotallevi. He’s a man that has fallen hard for Lex, and that’s a big problem for him. He also belongs to the Italian mafia and is doing his best to try and pull off a heist. The only thing is that the burglar herself keeps showing up and throwing a wrench in his plans. She wants the sapphire too.

And what was up with Miko’s erectile dysfunction problem? He’s had a hard time getting it up and cumming before meeting Nessa, but with her around, he gets hard immediately and can come in under a minute. Damn, Nessa must have some magical virgin p*ssy. ✌️ I annoyed that I’m annoyed by this book. I’ve been enjoying Sophie Lark’s work and I was expecting this to be a win since majority of her books have been a win. Pls Remember that this is a dark romance kidnapping story! The characters in this book are not 100% in the head so keep that in mind while reading this review and reading this book! i've never been a huge fan of the kidnapping trope but i must say that sophie has done it so well. nothing intimate happened up until 50% of the book and thank god for that because with this trope it’s necessary to build up their relationship Leo is my new husband😋💘🦋, he's seriously so yum. I practically live for his personality. He's so charming aahhhh. He has a killer body and face + a killer personality, what do you want more? I love how he and his dad both have the same playful personality but still are different in some way or another. The thing I want to put out here first and foremost and the main reason it got a low rating is because I don't think Lark's writing style is for me. There was potential here and I was ready to be ensnared by everything Miko-Nessa but oh my god I soldiered through it. I WANT to give it a higher rating, I WANT to love this book but I CAN'T. The characters weren't annoying and the plot was alright, especially towards the 80% mark, so why did I hate it? Because it was cliché as ffffffffffff! WTF was it with the Beauty and the Beast thing? And then the confession after interacting probably a maximum of 10 times with Nessa as Miko's prisoner? It was HORRIBLE! Sure there was tension between every character and the sexual tension was subpar, including the smut (-_-), but it wasn't enough to hold me over. Even to Kingmakers, the most brutal college in the world. Where mafia heirs are trained to control, dominate, infiltrate, and kill. All the light went out of my life,” I whisper. “I’ve been so dark without you.” The Heir, Chapter 24, 69.3% When Anna and Leo finally got together, we get one sex scene and then a time jump. I wanted to see them together growing as a couple, not being told that now they are happy. The rest of the book they just have sex and that's it.
