About this deal

Delving into the lives of the oppressed population of Appia, Divine is undoubtedly thought-provoking and heart-wrenching – the perfect read for fans of Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen series, the Hunger Games, and The Man in the High Castle. The heroine’s name - Electa Steel - tells us she’s both a tough cookie and chosen for higher things.

Woodman began writing Divine when she was thirteen and revisited it years later to add a clear and mature voice. It's I understand that this is the first book in a series, but why was there no insight to at least make me want to read the next book?

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. In all honesty, I primarily picked it up based on the recommendation of a family member who is a huge fan of this author, but if this is a prime example of her storytelling, I think it may not be for me. its that kind of terrible story that is really easy to get through, with just enough drama to keep me hooked.

It starts from the outset with some outrageous Christian propaganda about absintence only education and even has some horribly false statistics on abstinence only education.

I have put together some reading goals for this year and I wanted to share them with you as a way to hold myself accountable. I will read another of Karen Kingsbury's novels, because it was a captivating story and well written.I will revisit them halfway through the year to see how I’m getting on with them and if there’s any I need to prioritise.

Spartaca uses Electa as a pawn, and in the process, she must learn to adapt to the politics and power her new life brings. This is about a brave woman (actually it follows the story of two women) who has lived through some horrific situations.I am a strong believer and do agree with the previous statement, but the way it was applied seemed naive. Unfortunately, it’s not as many books as I read the previous year and I really want to try to read 70-80 books in 2024. All-in-all, if you like intense books and you enjoy "faith-fiction" you may enjoy this book, just be forwarned about the liberties the author takes.
